Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has decent opening at Box Office

Farhan Akhtar's latest outing Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB), which is a biopic on the life of Flying Sikh Milkha Singh, had created lot of positive buzz, prior its release. This much-hyped film, which has hit the screens across the globe today, has received a decent opening at the Indian Box Office. Having a strong word of mouth, the movie is expected to show a big leap over the weekend.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, which had a strong response in paid previews on Thursday evening, has very good opening in North Indian circuits, especially in Punjab. It has registered an average of 40-45% occupancy at multiplexes in urban areas morning and noon shows on Friday. Since the film lacks a mass appeal, its performance in mass belt is not upto the expected mark.

The Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor starrer, which has been made with a whopping budget, has to show a big jump at the Box Office to recover its production cost. Trade experts feel that films of this genre, generally, go from strength to strength from evening show onwards. "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag enjoys terrific word of mouth and the business is expected to escalate during the course of the day, as per trends," writes Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
