Makers of Lage Raho Munnabhai got support from a lawmaker who demanded that they should be awarded Padmashree on the Republic Day.

In his Special Mention in the Rajya Sabha, Shantaram Naik, Congress, said, "No books written on Gandhiji could make inroads into the minds of teenagers.

The producer and director of Lage Raho Munnabhai should be awarded Padmashree on the occasion of the coming Republic Day."
