Dhurandhar 2 Dispute: Trimurti Films Sues Aditya Dhar’s Production Over Hum Pyar Karne Wale Use In Part 2
Trimurti Films targets B62 Studios in a copyright dispute over Hum Pyaar Karne Waale used in Dhurandhar The Revenge, seeking urgent injunctive relief and damages as the film sustains a robust domestic box office run.
Dhurandhar The Revenge is drawing large crowds at cinemas, yet a legal dispute has surfaced around its music. Trimurti Films has moved court against director Aditya Dhar’s banner, B62 Studios, for alleged copyright infringement of the classic song Hum Pyaar Karne Waale from Tridev. The complaint comes even as Dhurandhar 2 continues its strong three-week box office run.

The case, reported by Bar and Bench, focuses on the alleged unauthorised use of the song, or a track closely resembling it, in Dhurandhar The Revenge. Trimurti Films claims B62 Studios did not obtain any necessary licences or permissions before including the music in the film. The production house has therefore sought urgent legal action against the makers.
Dhurandhar The Revenge copyright row over Hum Pyaar Karne Waale
Hum Pyaar Karne Waale first appeared in the 1989 film Tridev and was co-composed by Anand–Milind, with lyrics by Sameer Anjaan. Anuradha Paudwal and Udit Narayan sang the track. According to the suit, Trimurti asserts ownership and control over the rights in both the musical composition and the sound recording, and argues these rights were allegedly breached.
Trimurti Films has asked the court for injunctive relief to prevent any further use of Hum Pyaar Karne Waale in Dhurandhar The Revenge. The company is also seeking damages and other related remedies. The suit highlights fears that the track could be commercially exploited through theatrical screenings, streaming releases, and promotional content if the court does not intervene.
Dhurandhar The Revenge box office, music credits and dispute
The legal filing notes alleged copyright infringement through unauthorised reproduction and public communication of the work. At the same time, a lyrical video released on YouTube by T Series credits singers Anuradha Paudwal and Udit Narayan, with lyricist Sameer Anjaan also mentioned. Trimurti Films, however, maintains that these credits do not replace the need for proper licences or formal permissions.

The spy action thriller tracks the origin of Ranveer Singh’s character Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who later operates as undercover agent Hamza Ali Mazari in Pakistan.
The narrative follows Hamza as the character climbs through Lyari’s criminal and political set-up, becoming a key figure while secretly targeting a terror network based in Pakistan. Dhurandhar The Revenge also features Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in lead roles, with Danish Pandor, Udaybir Sandhu and others in significant parts, plus a cameo by Aditya Dhar’s spouse and actor Yami Gautam. Ranveer Singh’s influence in the franchise has drawn attention before; actor Mrunal Thakur has said, “He is my lucky charm”.
