Commander Karan Saxena OTT Release: Gurmeet Choudhary Playing Character Writer Amit Khan Created

Disney+ Hotstar is set to launch a new action series, Commander Karan Saxena, which revolves around a RAW agent who must unravel a high-stakes mystery amidst political intrigue and betrayal. The series, premiering on July 8, 2024, stars Gurmeet Choudhary as Commander Karan Saxena, alongside Iqbal Khan and Hruta Durgule in lead roles. The show will be available for free on the Disney+ Hotstar mobile app.

Gurmeet Choudhary, who comes from an army family, brings to his role as Commander Karan Saxena. He has shared how his family's military legacy has influenced his portrayal of the character. Choudhary said, "Coming from a fauji family, I've witnessed firsthand the sacrifices and emotional toll that come with a life dedicated to serving the nation. This background allowed me to deeply connect with the vulnerable side of my character...These real-life experiences were instrumental in understanding and expressing the inner conflicts and dedication of my character."

Author Amit Khan's thoughts on Gurmeet Choudhary's portrayal

Amit Khan, who created the character of Commander Karan Saxena, expressed his satisfaction with Gurmeet Choudhary taking on the role. He said, "When I heard that Gurmeet Choudhary is playing the character of Commander Karan Saxena, I felt very good...During the shoot, he worked very hard...I will say only one thing - he is no longer Gurmeet Choudhary, he is Commander Karan Saxena. I have now started calling him Commander Karan Saxena instead of Gurmeet."
