Crunchyroll has announced the nominees for the 10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026, covering 32 categories. The list, revealed on 2 April 2026, highlights Dandadan Season 2 as the clear front-runner with 17 nominations. Fans worldwide can cast votes until 14 April 2026, 11:59 p.m. PT, ahead of the live ceremony in Tokyo.

The awards will be broadcast from Tokyo, Japan, on 23 May 2026, continuing the event’s global format. The finalists in every category were chosen by an independent international judging panel. These judges carried out a preliminary voting round and shortlisted six nominees for each category. Public votes will now combine with judges’ scores to determine every winner.

Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 nominees lead races and voting details

Dandadan Season 2 dominates the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards nominations list. The series secured 17 nods, including Anime of the Year and Best Continuing Series. It also earned two spots in Best Anime Main Character for Momo and Okarun, plus two places in Best Anime Supporting Character. Dandadan Season 2 appears across multiple genre and music categories as well.

Two titles sit jointly in second place in the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 nominees count. Gachiakuta and The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 each received 11 nominations. My Hero Academia Final Season follows closely with 10 nominations, covering awards such as Anime of the Year, Best Continuing Series, Best Action Anime and several character honours.

Takopi's Original Sin has emerged as another strong contender in the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 nominees list. The short anime, praised for its darker storyline and emotional themes, is nominated for Anime of the Year and Best New Series. It is also recognised in Best Animation, Best Drama Anime and Best Anime "Must Protect At All Costs" Character

In 2023, the ceremony moved to the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan, reflecting its international reach.
