Salim Kumar, the hero again

Although the film didn't pull in the crowds, it was appreciated for its presentation and the artistes' performance. Salim Kumar also won the Kerala State film award for the second best actor for portraying Samuel, a widower with three young daughters, a government employee on the verge of retirement.
After his impressive performance in Achanurangatha Veedu, many filmmakers have approached Salim Kumar for the title roles in their films, but Salim Kumar continues to be a comedy actor in great demand.
Now, Salim Kumar is back again as hero in Light, to be directed by debutant Devaprasad. He will be appearing as Raman Parayan, who later becomes a communist following his bonding with a communist leader who lives in hideouts. The movie will have him in two getups, as a youth aged 34 and then, as a veteran aged 84.
Light will also have Jagathy Sreekumar, Kalabhavan Mani, M.R. Gopakumar and Ranjusha in other important roles. The film, produced under the banner Mindoff creations, will be cinematographed by Lalkannan and will start its shoot soon.
