I Want To Talk Review: An Exceptional Abhishek Bachchan Is The Saving Grace Of This Shoojit Sircar Film

I want to talk review 1

Rating:
2.5/5
Star Cast: Abhishek Bachchan
Director: Shoojit Sircar

I Want To Talk Review: Abhishek Bachchan's last theatrical release was Ghoomer which also starred Saiyami Kher in the lead role. Despite being a good film, the movie was a disaster at the box office. Now, after around 1 and a half years, he is back on the big screens with Shoojit Sircar's I Want To Talk. The trailer of the film was strictly decent, so is the movie worth your time and money? Find out in our review below...

Arjun Sen (Abhishek Bachchan) is suffering from cancer and undergoes a surgery. But soon, just one surgery turns into many surgeries and he somewhat becomes addicted to surgeries. After multiple surgeries, he is still persistent about living his life. So, how long will Arjun survive or will he die? Well, these things take the movie forward...

I Want To Talk is written by Ritesh Shah and directed by Shoojit Sircar. The first half of the movie is very dull and boring. There are no scenes that will keep you hooked and it just feels like you are watching a depressing film about a man who might just die anytime soon. However, the film takes a U-Turn in the second half.

The second of the film is about the bond between Arjun and his daughter Riya. The movie takes the Piku route here where there is a lot of funny banter between the father and the daughter. The scenes are surely hilarious and will make you laugh out loud. Not just the scenes between Arjun and his daughter, but even the scenes between Arjun and the doctor are super funny.

The second half is surely much better than the first half and takes the movie a notch higher. But, of course, we cannot ignore the dull, boring, and super slow first half.

I Want To Talk Actors' Performances

There's no doubt that Abhishek Bachchan is a fantastic actor, and with I Want To Talk, he proves that once again. He is simply excellent in the film, and we can clearly say that he is the saving grace of the movie. Ahilya Bamroo as Riya leaves a strong mark with her performance.

Johny Lever has a few scenes in the movie and he is hilarious. But, we really wanted more of him.

I Want To Talk Music

The music of the film is not up to the mark. There are no songs that you will remember after the movie gets over and even the background score is not impressive.

I Want To Talk Review Final Verdict

Overall, I Want To Talk had the potential to be a better film if the first half was good. But, a funny second half and Abhishek Bachchan's exceptional performance save it. Well, it is surely not one of the best works of Shoojit Sircar. But, if you are an Abhishek Bachchan fan, it is a must watch for you.
