Akshay Kumar & Pankaj Tripathi's OMG 2 Lands In BIG Trouble Because Of Adipurush? Here's Why

OMG 2 Censor Board: Akshay Kumar's most anticipated film, Oh My God 2, whose teaser was dropped a few days ago, seems to have found itself amid troubles. If several media reports are to be believed, the second installment of the much-talked-about movie is facing issues with the censor board.
The film is slated to hit theatres on August 11. Meanwhile, free reports suggest that the CBFC has stalled the film's release, while others claim that the board has asked the makers to take the film to the Revision committee.
Akshay Kumar & Pankaj Tripathi OMG 2 lands in trouble
According to reports, OMG 2 has been sent to the revision committee to assure that the film's dialogues and scenes do not create any problems like Prabhas starrer Adipurush faced for its cringe dialogues.
As the film deals with subjects like God, religion, and faith, the Censor Board has now taken "preemptive measures" to avoid backlash similar to what Adipurush underwent. Furthermore, any film made on subjects like God or religion from now on will be sent for review and revision.
Reportedly, the sensor board has refused to certify OMG. It is being very cautious after the unprecedented backlash Adipurush faced because of the controversial and pedestrian modern-day language used for Gods, Aaj Tak reported.
A source informed the news channel that the film has been sent to the 'review committee', so that people's feelings are not hurt as it happened during Adipurush.
Akshay portrays Lord Shiva in OMG 2. According to an ETimes article, the Examining Committee has requested that producers refer the film to the Revision Committee after it is screened for certification. According to the report, the Central Board of Certification (CBFC) has not yet issued a show cause notice to the film's producer.
What have the film's producers said?
A source from the film's production team has denied the reports suggesting that there is no issue with the film and that the producers have not been informed about any problem with the certification process. ETimes quoted the source as saying, "There is no issue yet. The censor board process is on."
Helmed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 also features Yami Gautam and Arun Govil in key roles. The satirical comedy drama is a sequel to the successful 2012 film of the same name. It will also clash with Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 on August 11.
