Born on 25th December 1982 in a small village near Keshpur in Medinipur (West), West Bengal, his father Gurudas Adhikari had a food catering service. Today, we are talking about Bengali superstar Dev (Dev Adhikari). After doing Diploma in Computer Engineering in Pune, Dev made his acting debut opposite Rachana Banerjee in 'Agnishapath' (2006). It was a box office disaster and Dev was criticized over his Bengali pronunciation. Next year, his second film 'I Love You' was released and things changed overnight.
During his early days, Dev's father was behind the food catering department on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan's 1997 film 'Yes Boss', where Dev had once served good to the actor. In one of his interviews, Dev also revealed that he would wash dishes on many film sets. Later, Dev shared the stage with SRK during Kolkata Film Festival.
According to a report by NETTV4u, Dev is currently the highest-paid Bengali actor. As per reports, he is also the richest Bangla movie actor.
