Black Warrant stars Zahaan Kapoor, the grandson of late Shashi Kapoor, in the lead role, Sunil Gupta. Other than him, the movie also stars Paramvir Singh Cheema, Rahul Bhat, Anurag Thakur, and Sidhant Gupta. The plot of the movie revolves around Sunill Gupta, along with his two fellow jailers, confronts notorious inmates of Tihar jail entangled with in-house politics.

The synopsis of the movie states, "Armed with little more than grit and determination, the trio faces towering challenges within Tihar. This never-seen-before account traces the deeply personal stories of inmates, officers, and their complex dynamics. Will they be able to challenge the system and bring change for the better, or will Tihar change them?"

Black Warrant also stars talented actors like Rajshri Deshpande, Tota Roy Chaudhary, and Rajendra Gupta. Helmed by Vikramaditya Motwane, who has also directed Ananya Panday starrer CTRL a few months ago, Black Warrant is presented by Applause Entertainment. Motwane co-created the movie with Satyanshu Singh.
