Created by the celebrated director duo Raj & DK, the men behind 'The Family Man' franchise and 'Citadel: Honey Bunny', Farzi created a rage among the audience an became an instant hit. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi, Rashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon and Bhuvan Arora among others, the Amazon Prime Video series was released on 10th February 2023 on Prime.

Shahid Kapoor Debut Series Farzi To Get A Sequel?

Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., Farzi was said to be initially planned as a film. Later, it got conceived as a web series and marked Shahid Kapoor entry into the world of web series. The series revolved around the story of an artist named Sunny (Shahid Kapoor), disillusioned by the income inequality in India, decided to join hands with his best friend Firoz (Bhuvan Arora) to counterfeit money.

With the cliffhanger ending in the last episode, it was already anticipated that we would get a sequel. In Farzi 2, Sunny will have a face off with Special Task Officer Michael (played by Vijay Sethupathi) and the crime mastermind Mansoor Dalal (played by Kay Kay Menon).

According to Pinkvilla, Shahid Kapoor starrer Farzi sequel, Farzi 2, is likely to go on floors in December 2025. A source close to the development informed the portal, "The duo of Raj and DK are presently busy with Rakht Brahmand. On calling it a wrap, they will proceed to the pre-production of Farzi 2 and take it on floors by December. Taj and DK have conducted meetings to discuss the basic trajectory of the sequel with Shahid Kapoor. The Farzi sequel will see a face-off Shahid Kapoor with Vijay Sethupathi and Kay Kay Menon."

As per the same report, Farzi 2 is likely to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the second half of 2026. However, there is no official confirmation yet.

Reportedly, Shahid will start shooting for Farzi 2 only after wrapping up filming for Dinesh Vijan's Cocktail 2.
