As the Indian adaptation of the hit American series Shark Tank, it first premiered in 2021 and has since become a landmark show for aspiring business leaders.
Fans can mark their calendars as Shark Tank India Season 5 is set to premiere on 5 January 2026, airing on Sony Entertainment Television and streaming online on SonyLIV for viewers everywhere. This season continues the popular format of showcasing real pitches from Indian startups, where entrepreneurs compete for funding and mentorship from a panel of seasoned investors, famously known as the “sharks.”
Returning sharks include Aman Gupta (Co-founder, boAt), Anupam Mittal (Founder, Shaadi.com), Namita Thapar (Director, Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-founder, Sugar Cosmetics), Kunal Bahl (Co-founder, Snapdeal), Peyush Bansal (Co-founder, Lenskart), Amit Jain (CEO & Co-founder, CarDekho Group), Viraj Bahl (Founder & MD, Veeba Foods), and Ritesh Agarwal (Founder & Group CEO, PRISM).
This season are new judges Varun Alagh (CEO & Co-founder, Honasa Consumer Ltd), Mohit Yadav (Co-founder, Minimalist), Shaily Mehrotra (CEO, Fixderma India), Hardik Kothiya (Founder, Rayzon Solar), Kanika Tekriwal (Founder, JetSetGo Aviation), and Pratham Mittal (Founder, Masters’ Union & Tetr College of Business).
Season 5 of Shark Tank India brings exciting updates and format tweaks, highlighted by the tagline “Yeh Season Hai Time Se Aage,” signaling a focus on unconventional ideas. For the first time, a Campus Special segment will showcase student-led startups and early-stage ventures from universities, emphasizing support for young founders. Early promos also hint at a satirical take on work culture and entrepreneurship, building buzz even before the season premieres.
