Dhyan Sreenivasan took on the lead role in the Malayalam movie 'Jailer,' sparking controversy due to the clash of titles with Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' and a shared release date. Facing resistance from theater owners for a longer theatrical window, the makers of the Malayalam film decided to postpone its release. Sakkir Madathil, the director of 'Jailer,' protested for a day in front of the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce on the matter . The dispute arose when Madathil realized his film was receiving fewer screens than expected, as Rajinikanth's 'Jailer,' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, was allocated 400 theaters in Kerala, while Madathil's 'Jailer' was given only 40 screens, despite having registered the title with the KFCC in 2021.

Padmini is a romantic-comedy drama, directed by Senna Hegde, and stars Kuchacko Boban. Aparna Balamurali, Madonna Sebastian and Vincy Aloshious in the lead roles. After release of the movie, the producer Suvin K Varkey, made some allegations  against the Malayalam actor Kuchacko Boban and mentioned the actor took Rs 2.5 crore as fee for 25 days and did zero promotions for the film. It became a widely discussed topic in the town, prompting responses from actors Madonna Sebastian and Senna Hegde. However, Kunchacko Boban has yet to react to the allegations raised against him by the producer.
