Nushrratt Bharuccha Carries The Film On Her Shoulders
The narrative’s attempts to make a point are affected by its inability to pick a lane - it fails to strike that sweet spot between comedy and issue-tackling.
Janhit Mein Jaari lives up to the cleverness of its title until it doesn’t. The absurdity always rings truer than the preaching.
Barring the female protagonist played by Nushrratt Bharuccha, none of the principal characters, not even the one that the solid-as-ever Vijay Raaz essays, is granted a convincing arc.
Nushrratt Bharuccha's latest movie kicks off with such promise and delight, it's a shame to witness it dig itself into a hole by the second half.
Overall, as a director, Jai Basantu Singh makes a confident Bollywood debut but he has a long way to go as the captain of the ship.
