Shabd Shabd is a thriller movie revolving around a gifted writer Shaukat (Sanjay Dutt) who is desperate to come out of the critical failure of his last novel. As he pens his story with twists and turns, Shaukat decides to incorporate his story into his real life and write the novel based on that occurrence. He will put anything at stake to regain his grip on reality and the written word. Even his love...

His story begins when his wife, Antara (Aishwarya Rai), is approached by Yash (Zayed Khan) and continuously persuaded for a romantic affair. Antara who is a professor of fashion technology loves Shaukat unquestionably. Yash who is a happy go lucky professor of photography falls head over heels in love with Antara.

Shaukat decides that Antara should pursue the relationship for the sake of his story. He attempts to make his story as realistic as possible. However Antara does not show any romantic inclination towards Yash until her husband asks her to indulge in a relationship with Yash. Shaukat doesn´t realize that in his process Antara is already fascinated by Yash. He fails to realize what is happening in front of his eyes.

But when the realization settles in...its too late. Shaukat tries to change the direction his novel is headed to. He hopes the same for his real life. Will there be a twist in the story?
