Education After completing college, Satish Shah graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), where he received professional training in acting. His education at FTII laid the foundation for his long and versatile career in theatre, films, and television. Personal Life Satish Shah married Madhu Shah in 1982. The couple shared a strong bond and kept their personal life relatively private. He was also known to have a brother named Natwar Shah. Satish often described his wife as his biggest support throughout his career. Career Satish Shah began his acting journey in the late 1970s, making his film debut with Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan in 1978. He became a household name with the television show Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (1984), in which he portrayed more than fifty different characters, showcasing his exceptional comic timing. He earned immense popularity for his memorable roles in films such as Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! , Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa , and Main Hoon Na (2004). On television, his portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai remains one of his most iconic performances. Over the years, he appeared in more than 200 films and numerous TV shows, earning respect for his humor, warmth, and versatility. Death Satish Shah passed away on 25 October 2025 in Mumbai at the age of 74 due to kidney-related complications. His death marked the end of a remarkable era in Indian entertainment.
