Early Life & Background

Zeishan Quadri was born on March 18, 1983, in Wasseypur, Dhanbad district, Jharkhand, India. He completed his schooling in Dhanbad and later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Science. After graduation, he worked in call centers and with HCL in Delhi before moving to Mumbai to pursue his passion for filmmaking and writing.

Career Beginnings

Zeishan started his journey in the entertainment industry as a writer. His breakthrough came when he wrote the story and screenplay for Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2 (2012), directed by Anurag Kashyap. The film was critically acclaimed for its raw storytelling and unique portrayal of the coal mafia in Wasseypur.

Work as an Actor and Director

Apart from being a writer, Zeishan is also an actor and director. He played the role of ‘Definite’ in Gangs of Wasseypur 2. He later wrote scripts for films like Meeruthiya Gangsters, which also marked his directorial debut in 2015.
