Ponman Story

Ponman is a Malayalam comedy-drama directed by Jothish Shankar and starring Basil Joseph in a central role.

The film is an adaptation of GR Indugopan's Nalanchu Cheruppakar, with a screenplay by Justin Mathew and Indugopan. Produced by Ajith Vinayaka Films, it also features performances by Sajin Gopu, Lijomol Jose, Deepak Parambol, Anand Manmadhan, Rajesh Sharma, and Jaya Kurup. The film's visual and audio aspects are crafted by cinematographer Sanu John Varughese, editor Nidhin Raj Arol, and music director Justin Varghese.

Movie Plot
Set against the picturesque backdrop of a coastal town in Kollam, the story delves into the deeply ingrained gold dowry system that governs the marriage institution. At its heart lies a gold broker, whose seemingly routine dealings take an unexpected turn when he becomes entangled in a high-stakes conflict between two families. As emotions run high and tensions escalate, he finds himself caught in a gripping struggle for survival, where tradition, greed, and familial honor collide, shaping the course of events in ways he never anticipated.
