Sadhanai movie story is about Slum, a boy who lives with his grandmother. His daily work is to pick rags from the streets. He has an encounter with a boy who taunts him about not going to school. Stung, Slum takes it up as a challenge and goes about getting admission into school and sits for examination. But it is not easy.
