Saraswathi Story
Saraswathi is an upcoming Telugu suspense thriller film directed by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. The film features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Priya Mani in the lead roles, while Prakash Raj, Kishore, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Radhika Sarathkumar, Nasser, Thulasi, Sapthagiri, Srikanth Iyengar, Mime Gopi, Hareesh Peradi, Raghu Babu, Getup Srinu, Venkat, Niveksha, Pramila Rani, appear in important supporting roles. The music is composed by Thaman S, cinematography is handled by A.M. Edwin Sakay, and editing is done by Venkat Raajen. The film is jointly produced by Pooja Sarathkumar & Varalaxmi Sarathkumar under the Dosa Diaries banner.
Story
Lakshmi (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar) works as a nurse and is a single mother who lives only for her daughter Saraswathi (Niveshka Naidu). Her daughter means everything to her, and she dedicates her entire life to raising her. They celebrate Saraswathi’s 12th birthday in a grand manner. However, one day Saraswathi goes to school and suddenly goes missing. Later, it is revealed that she was brutally assaulted by three men inside the school principal’s room.
Before dying, Saraswathi confides her suffering to her mother. Devastated by the tragedy, Lakshmi secretly takes her daughter’s body to a cremation ground and buries it without informing anyone. Seeking justice for the injustice done to her daughter, Lakshmi approaches a famous lawyer (Prakash Raj) to fight the case. However, due to the lack of evidence and Lakshmi’s unstable mental condition after the tragedy, the court dismisses the case. The story explores Lakshmi’s deep love for her daughter, the events surrounding Saraswathi’s disappearance, the response of the school authorities and police, why the court rejected the case, and the shocking twist that emerges afterward. The film ultimately revolves around whether Lakshmi finally receives justice for her daughter.
Release Date
Saraswathi movie was released in theaters on 6 March 2026.
