Shaakuntalam Story
Shaakuntalam is a romantic fantasy entertainer movie directed by Gunasekhar. The movie casts Samantha and Dev Mohan in the main lead roles along with Allu Arha, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr.M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta, and many others have seen in supporting roles. The music was composed by Mani Sharma while the cinematography was done by Shekar V Joseph and it is edited by Prawin Pudi. The film is produced by Neelima Guna under Gunaa Teamworks banner.
Story
Menaka (Madhubala), who comes to earth to disturb Vishwamitra's penance, falls in love with him and gives birth to a child as part of Indra's (Jishusen Gupta) plan. The lack of human access to heaven leaves the child in the wilderness. The orphaned child is adopted by Kanva Maharshi (Sachin Khedkar) and named Shakuntala. When Dushyanta Maharaja (Dev Mohan) came to the area, Shakuntala fell in love with each other at first sight and got married as a Gandharva. After that, he promises to go to his kingdom and officially become the queen of the throne, leaving the pregnant Shakunta in the monastery of Maharshi Kanva. But Durvasa Mahamuni (Mohan Babu) comes to Maharishi Kanva's house and curses Shakuntala for insulting him for a reason.
Why Durvasa Muni cursed Sakuntas? What happened in Shakuntala's life after being cursed by Durvasa? What happened to Shakunta who went to Dushyanta Maharaja to accept her as her husband? Why did Dusyanta refuse to accept Shakunta as his wife? What is the reason behind the enmity of Dusyant to Rakshasa Sena? Did Dusyanta finally accept the Shakuntas?
